We are seeking Platform Engineers who are passionate about creating and supporting DevOps tools with emerging technologies to join our team. As a Platform Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One. As a Platform Engineer for the DevNav platform, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing new capabilities for our Platform components. Ensuring platform availability, resiliency & redundancy along with expanding our platform to reach an ever growing list of customer segments. Using open source technologies, you will be responsible for ensuring we are reaching the right customers with the right channel at the right time. • Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios
• Continuously improve software engineering practices
• Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies
• Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience and scalability of your solutions
• Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community
• Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization and diversity
• Utilize scripting languages like Python, SQL, Ruby and groovy, Container Orchestration services including Docker and ECS, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services-- Basic Qualifications:
  • -- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
  • -- At least 4 years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, GitHub, or Artifactory)
  • At least 2 years of experience with AWS ---- Preferred Qualifications:
    • 3+ years of experience with AWS
    • 2+ years of experience in Agile practices
    • 1+ year of experience in containerization (Kubernetes)
    • 1+ year of experience in networking (Linux)
